Careers

Work in a unique and creative environment.

The culture at Precast Engineering Company (PEC) plays a major factor in its success. While steadily increasing in size, PEC continues to retain the small, family-like feel it had when the company was first started in 1978. Although relatively informal, the work environment is well suited for the design and development of some of the finest precast structures in the Midwest. Our spacious and conveniently located office supplements this setting and the work is carried out on customized AutoCAD, Revit, and computerized design programs.

Project Engineer

Full-time (40+ hours/week)

Milwaukee Metropolitan Area

Description: Precast Engineering Company (PEC) is looking for ambitious structural engineering graduates with a solid background in concrete and steel design. Job duties include the generation of structural calculations and drawings, as well as project coordination. Engineers will be in frequent contact with the project architect, general contractor, and the precast plant. Based on their ability and performance, responsibility is given to new engineers at a challenging rate. New engineers typically manage their own projects within the first year and a half. Mentors supplement the graduate’s degree by training in advanced engineering theory used for precast system and component design. New engineers at PEC are guided through their first few projects, learning the techniques and concepts pertinent to each project. This process utilizes the graduate’s knowledge of theory, and shapes their practical design experience. With a firm belief in “training by way of doing”, engineers are responsive for a large scope of the project in a relatively short amount of time. PEC’s goal is to attract and retain gifted individuals by training them to completely understand the entire precast concrete design process from conception to construction.

Required Qualifications: A BS in Civil or Structural Engineering and a familiarity with AutoCAD is required. Structural concrete design experience, an interest in project management, knowledge of drafting standards, programming experience, familiarity with Revit and effective communication skills are also desired.

Join a Talented Team:

The strength of Precast Engineering Company is derived from its employees, and the company’s past success is directly attributed to its capable staff of engineers and technicians. PEC is committed to providing a challenging and rewarding work environment for all employees.

PEC’s project repertoire includes architecturally complicated low to mid-rise office, residential and commercial buildings; manufacturing facilities; sports complexes; parking structures; and bridge beam components.

CAD/BIM Technician

Full-time (40+ hours/week)

Milwaukee Metropolitan Area

Description: Precast Engineering Company (PEC) is looking for ambitious drafting students with a solid background in AutoCAD and/or Revit. Job duties include generating production drawings, erection drawings, and connection details for a variety of large precast concrete structures. Strong arithmetic skills and a solid understanding of basic geometry is essential. Based on their ability and performance, responsibility is given to new technicians at a challenging rate and could potentially include project leader duties.

With a firm belief in “training by way of doing”, all members of our group are responsible for a large scope of the project in a relatively short amount of time. To ensure accuracy, all drawings are checked, and any corrections or alternatives are always discussed. Technicians also have the opportunity to become project leaders with enhanced responsibilities after accumulating a certain level of experience. As a project leader, coordination with the project architect, general contractor, and other engineers allows for increased interaction with the other trades and parties involved with a typical project.

Required Qualifications: Proficiency in AutoCAD is required and previous professional 2D and 3D CAD drafting experience and/or experience in the construction field is highly desired. Applicants should also possess effective communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, and a keen eye for detail.

Join a Talented Team: The strength of Precast Engineering Company is derived from its employees, and the company’s past success is directly attributed to its capable staff of engineers and technicians. PEC is committed to providing a challenging and rewarding work environment for all employees.
