Currently under construction, CONRAC O’Hare is a large facility that will be used to consolidate all rental vehicles for Chicago O’Hare International Airport in one location in addition to providing public parking.
The precast portion of the project consists of 10 structures: the main parking structure (RAC/PPG), which has an approximate capacity of 7,000 cars; the QTA garage, used for servicing rental vehicles; four precast helix ramps for accessing the main parking structure; one access bridge between the RAC/PPG and QTA; and three precast outbuildings for mechanical and utility support.
To complete the project, nearly 6,000 individual precast pieces will be required. The RAC/PPG parking structure is so large that each level will cover the area of approximately nine football fields!
